JIM CUMMINGS
Birthdate: 1953
Birthplace: Youngstown, Ohio, USA
These are links on Jim Cummings, one of the most prominent character voice actors in the last 2 decades. It's not too much of stretch to say that everyone has heard Jim Cummings at one point in their life or another. Since around 1987, Jim's voices have been featured in dozens of popular animated series. But even if you don't watch cartoons, the only way to escape hearing Jim's voice is by not watching TV at all. He frequently provides voiceover for theatrical trailers, and both radio and TV advertising. He's probably most known for his lead character roles in animation, such as Monterey Jack/Fat Cat/Professor Nimnul on "Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers" (1989), Darkwing Duck/Drake Mallard/Negaduck/Herb Muddlefoot on "Darkwing Duck" (1991), Taz/Wendel T. Wolf/Bob on "Taz-Mania" (1992), and both Bonkers T. Bobcat and Lucky Piquel on "Bonkers" (1995), and the voice of Winnie the Pooh since Sterling Holloway passed away. Other than Frank Welker, Jim is perhaps the closest we have today to Mel Blanc. ============================= Fun Facts & Trivia on Jim Cummings: - Performed 32 different characters on "Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers". - Filled in as the singing voice for Jeremy Irons as Scar in Disney's The Lion King, and for Christopher Lloyd as Rasputin in Fox Animation's Anastasia. - At least 2 Disney characters have been modeled after Jim's face: Pete on "Goof Troop" and Lucky Piquel on "Bonkers". =============================
