Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) was a British author and illustrator of best selling children's books, including, 'The Tale of Benjamin Bunny' and 'The Tale of Tom Kitten'. These stories were inspired by her many visits to the Lake District, in Cumbria, on holiday with her parents. The later part of her life was spent as a Cumbrian sheep farmer, conservationist and benefactor to The National Trust.
