Erma Bombeck was born on February 21, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio, and died April 22, 1996, in San Francisco, California. Bombeck is best know for her satirical look at the daily life of a suburban housewife in the newspaper column, "At Wit's End" which she wrote three times a week for over 900 newspapers. Her books include: _I Lost Everything in the Post-Natal Depression_ published in 1973. _The Grass Is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank_ published in 1976 and made into a television movie in 1978. _If Life Is a Bowl of Cherries, What Am I Doing in the Pits?_ published in 1978.
