Stepford Wives, The - 1975

The Stepford Wives - USA (1975), directed by Bryan Forbes, from a screenplay by William Goldman, based on the novel by Ira Levin. Joanna Eberhart (Katherine Ross) moves to the small town of Stepford where the women are 'perfect' wives, happily going about their housework - cleaning, shopping, doing laundry, and willing to do anything to please their husbands, whilst the men meet at the shadowy Men's Association. Will Joanna discover the secret behind the association before it is too late, or is she doomed to become another one of the wives? Music score by Michael Small.
