John Barry (1933 - ) British composer of movie soundtracks. Born in York. Sometimes credited as the John Barry Seven. He will forever be associated with the magnificent and exciting James Bond scores, but has an enormous reputation for delivering the musical goods in any number of film genres. Other film scores include 'Out of Africa', 'Dances with Wolves', 'The Cotton Club', and 'Walkabout'.
