English composer Michael Berkeley (1948-), son of Sir Lennox Berkeley, established his own solid place in music, cementing it with the 1982 oratorio Or Shall We Die? and continuing it with the string pieces Coronach and Gethsemani Fragment and the opera Baa Baa Black Sheep, based on Kipling's childhood.
