Twentieth century Danish composer and violinist Jacob Thune Hansen Gade (1879-1963), although he had no formal training, was a bandleader and composer of light music, salon songs, and theater tunes. It was a silent movie composition, Tango Jalousy, that became Denmark's most popular single piece of music and was once one of the best-known melodies on earth.
