Read, Gardner

Composer and conductor Gardner Read (1913-) is important both for his own work and for his influence on others as teacher and theorist. Several of his books became classics in musical scholarship. Read wrote for orchestra, chamber ensemble, organ, piano, and solo and choral voices.
