German Romantic period composer and pianist Clara Josephine Wieck (1819-1896) was pushed by a father who wanted her to be a great musician and child prodigy. She married composer Robert Schumann against her father's wishes and continued to edit his works and letters after his death. She championed Robert's music and that of their dear friend Johannes Brahms.
