Twentieth century American composer Morton Subotnick (1933-) was a pioneer in electronic composition. He came to fame with the first direct recording of a synthesizer piece to LP with the 1967 work Silver Apples of the Moon. He also produced instrumental and hybrid compositions and developed a web site dedicated to teaching elements of music and composition through interactive games.
