Lambert, Hendricks and RossWeb Directory

Dave Lambert, Jon Hendricks, and Annie Ross were the members of this premier jazz vocal group. Known for vocalese versions of tunes like "Summertime," "Moanin'" and "Twisted," they paved the way for contemporary groups like Manhattan Transfer, and New York Voices. Ross left the group in 1962 and was replaced by Yolande Bavan. The group split up in 1964, and Lambert died in a hit-and-run accident two years later. Hendricks and Ross continue to perform and record as solo artists.
