On Thursday afternoon, 6 March 2003, The SCO Group filed a lawsuit against International Business Machines, IBM, Big Blue, over Linux for at least $1 billion, charging IBM misappropriated (stole) Unix trade secrets from SCO to build its presence in the Linux software business, interfered with SCO's business, breached their SCO contract, and competed unfairly. Many articles, and a boycott of SCO by open source supporters resulted.
