Clans are associations of players - for a particular game - who play as a team. They are often bound by a set of clan rules and may be divided into different ranks based on seniority. Clans can battle other clans online through ladders such as the Online Gaming League (OGL) or the Team Warfare ladder (TWL). A clan website can serve as a tool for recruitment, a way to learn more about a clan, and a means to organize challenges.
