Peugeot is acknowledged as the oldest manufacturer of automobiles in the world. 1890 saw the introduction of the Vis-a-Vis followed by such models as the 1895 L'Eclair and the 1905 Bébé. After the 1914-18 war the Quadrilette was launched which, later, evolved into the 172 and 190. The significant '0-in-the-middle' trademark eg. 201 appeared in 1929. This innovative numbering system is still used currently having now reached the '07' series, the latest of which is 307 and 607.
