Tiruvannamalai is famous for Arunachaleswarar Temple, the Asta Lingams, many subsidiary Temples, Deepam Festival, 14 km Circumbulation of the Arunachala Hill and as the samadhi of many saints; Arunagirinathar, Virupaksha, Seshadri Swami, Ramana Maharshi and Yogi Ramsuratkumar. Tiruvannamalai is also the regional headquarters of Tiruvannamalai District.
