Kenyir is a rock-filled hydroelectric dam (Malaysia's largest) creating a lake of 300 islands in an area of 369 square km. It was constructed between 1978 and 1985. It is surrounded by jungle, rugged terrain and numerous waterfalls. For outdoor adventure try canoeing, boating, trekking, caving and fishing. It borders with Kelantan in the west and Pahang in the south, and is a gateway to Taman Negara. The main access point to Tasik Kenyir is via Gawi Jetty.
