Flat, low-lying area with parts below sea-level, best known for smuggling and sheep. Although the whole area is generally known simply as Romney Marsh, it actually comprises Romney Marsh in the east, Walland Marsh in the centre and Guldeford Marsh in the west, with Denge Marsh to the south.
