Chilgrove is a small hamlet and scattering of dwellings on the B2141 (Lavant to Petersfield Road). Chilgrove is part of the parish of West Dean. It has the Kingley Vale Nature Reserve and Forestry Commission lands to the east and the West Dean Estate, National Trust lands and the South Downs Way to the north, all of which make it an area for ramblers and walkers.
