Christ's Hospital is a hamlet within the parish of Southwater consisting mainly of the campus of the Christ's Hospital School (one of the largest in the UK), adjacent/coincident to which are the hamlets of Stammerham and Two Mile Ash. It has it's own railway station. Christ's Hospital is a boarding school and charitable foundation offering subsidised education for boys and girls, aged 11-18. It was founded in 1552 by King Edward VI, with previous pupils including Sam Taylor Coleridge, Charles Lamb, and James Leigh Hunt.
