Francis Harry Compton Crick - British molecular biologist (1916 - ). He was the co-ordinator with J. D. Watson, of the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA. He worked mainly in Cambridge until 1977, when he moved to the Salk Institute in San Diego. He shared the Nobel Prize for 1962 with J.D. Watson and M.H. Wilkins.
