One of the larger National Parks, the Peak District contains a wide variety of beautiful landscapes and outstanding scenery. The majority of the park is situated in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, and is easily accessible via public transport. The Peaks are divided naturally in two across a largely north-south split. The limestone White Peak offers rolling landscapes and tranquil dales; the Dark Peak is rugged moorland, yet bursting with a vivid array of wildlife and rare species of plants.
