Located in Louisiana, home of 2nd Bomb Wing, 8th Air Force, and 917th Wing. Barksdale AFB is located near Bossier City, and was named for Lt. Eugene H. Barksdale, a WWI airman killed in August 1926 near Wright Field, Ohio.
