This category covers issues broadly related to the budget for the United States federal (national) government. The federal budget is adopted annually in legislation adopted by Congress and signed by the president. Topics covered in this category include: appropriations (spending), taxation, and federal entitlements. This category does not cover budgets for particular programs or agencies (i.e., the Environmental Protection Agency or Department of Defense).
