Auction house Sotheby’s plans to sell collectible tokens (NFT) from an anonymous digital artist under the pseudonym Pak as early as next month.
The exact date of the auction has not yet been determined. According to Sotheby’s CEO Charles Stewart, the auction house chose the artist Pak due to the fame and popularity of his works.
“We are now seeing the earliest days of crypto art. And we have the opportunity to get ahead of more traditional companies in this direction, ” Stewart said in an interview with CNBC.
Sotheby’s became the second major auction house to pay attention to the field of collectible tokens. Earlier, the British auction house Christie’s held a sale of a digital painting “Everyday life: the first 5,000 days” by the artist Beeple. It earned $69.3 million
