Let Him Have It - UK/France/Netherlands (1991), directed by Peter Medak. Derek Bentley (Christopher Eccleston), an 19 year old with a low IQ, is hanged for a murder committed by another person, Chris Craig (Paul Reynolds). Based on a true story in which a 19-year-old boy was executed, but posthumously exonerated in 1953. The Conservative government, worried by growing violence in the post-war period, had decided to "make an example" of Bentley, the last person to be hanged in Britain. With Tom Courtenay and Eileen Atkins as his parents, and Clare Holman as his sister.
