Lekeu, Guillaume Jean Joseph Nicolas

The life of Belgian composer Guillaume Jean Joseph Nicolas Lekeu (1870-1894) was cut tragically short by typhoid. He was César Franck's final music pupil and Ysaÿe commissioned his 1892 Violin Sonata, the same year in which he produced Fantaisie sur deux airs populaires angevins for orchestra. D'Indy completed some of his compositions following his death.
