Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) includes Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis. Crohn's Disease is inflammation of the intestinal wall and may affect the whole of the gastrointestinal tract, from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative Colitis is inflammation and ulceration of the lining of the rectum and large intestine. Some symptoms of these diseases may be similar to those of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), which is an unrelated syndrome.
