Windows Mobile is a mobile operating system, a subset of Windows CE, developed by Microsoft for three groups of hardware devices:
The first version of Windows Mobile was released in 2000. In 2010 Windows Mobile was superseded by Windows Phone, which is incompatible with Windows Mobile devices and software.

- and Pocket PCs, personal digital assistants with touchscreens, but without phone capabilities.
