Rubella, also called German Measles, is a viral illness. It is not the same virus that causes measles (Rubeola).
The first symptoms are like a light cold, with swelling in the lymph nodes in the neck. Then, a rash appears around the ears that spreads all over the body and disappears in two or three days.
A mild disease for children, it can be harmful to a pregnant woman. There is a vaccine to prevent the illness.
