Category Description for Bible Study/By Topic/Types and Symbols
Sites in this category will examine types and symbols found in the Bible and their meaning.
A symbol is something that abstractly stands for something else, usually with a direct relationship. For example, the Book of Revelation uses 666 as the number of the Beast (Revelation 13:18).
A type is a pattern or correspondence between two things or events, often a historical analogy. For example, the Book of Hebrews states that the tabernacle of Moses was a copy of the tabernacle in heaven (Hebrews 8:5).
