Riverbank

Riverbank, in Stanislaus County, is located about 11 miles northeast of Modesto, the county seat. Incorporated in 1922 on the banks of the Stanislaus River, the city in 2000 had a population of approximately 16,600. The city's original name was Burneyville. Like much of Stanislaus County, Riverbank is an agricultural community now growing due both to local growth and to an influx of commuters from the San Francisco Bay Area. Riverbank is served by media from Modesto and Sacramento.
