Ashfield is a town located in Franklin County, Massachusetts. It was first settled in 1743 and was officially incorporated in 1765.
The community was named after Lord Thurlow of Ashfield, England and was once a center of the peppermint industry. Well-known residents have included Cecil B. DeMille, movie producer and director.
