Truro was incorporated in 1709. It is located in southeastern Massachusetts on Cape Cod, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the north and east, Wellfleet on the south, and Cape Cod Bay and Provincetown on the west. Its total area is 26.32 square miles, of which 21.06 square miles is land.
