The Lodi American Viticultural Area is in California's Central Valley, located directly east of San Francisco at the eastern edge of the Sacramento River Delta. It extends from just north of Stockton to just south of Sacramento, and is bordered on the east by the Sierra Foothills. Towns in the region include:
